Put Up or Shut Up Time for Michigan

I have watched all of UM's games and it is just mind boggling how much space is created on the field by their offense. It is those "spaces" that allow DR to run rampant and chuck it all over the place to the tune of video game numbers.

That being said, the teams they have played cannot exactly be classified as "good". I can't wait to see what occurs this week when they actually play a team with a defensive pulse. If MSU is able to put the clamps on this guy, hawk fans should breath easy. However, if he runs all over the damn place like every other week, then Iowa could be in for a problem.

Typically, a dominant defense will take care of a good offense. That is how LSU and Florida beat Oh. St. in those BCS title games. Iowa has such a defense. If MSU can at least slow down DR, I see no reason why Iowa can't bottle him up, if not knock him out of the game.

Part of me wants UM to light MSU up this weekend so Iowa can take all the credit for shutting down their offense. I have a feeling however, that MSU is going to be effective DR and will win the game.

Michigan's defense is nothing short of god-awful. Greg Robinson should be canned immediately. 120 out of 120 in pass defense.

play weak defenses that can't tackle and you get running lanes like these. Denard will have his teeth kicked in soon enough

With the bye week and MSU playing Michigan that should give the defensive coaches some extra time and information to come up with a strategy to slow or stop Robinson.

That said, I can't see Robinson having a big rushing day against the Hawks.

On the other hand, Michigans defense is terrible. I can see Iowa putting up 40+ points against them.
