PTL

I'll start off with the annual PTL is meaningful/meaningless conversation.

I am one who thinks it gives us a barometer of a player's ability to be successful in the college season (in other words, there is a correlation between PTL success and season success) WAIT, this doesn't mean a direct one to one comparison. Rather, if a player does not basically dominate in PTL, his chances of being able to contribute much in NCAA games is basically nil.

Without calling out players by name, this has been proven over and over through recent history.

That being said, the current roster sets up nicely for PTL as only two current scholarship players can be on a team together by NCAA rule.

So here is my question,

What do you think would be the best PTL pairings of current players for the development if each player and who would you like to see the newcomers paired with?

Here's my list:

Woody - Uthoff
White - MG - Ellingson
Oleseni - Jok - Dickerson
Josh - Sap - Uhl

I'll agree that there are certain things you tell about a player in the PTL. Most of them are on the offensive side of the ball: how well they shoot the three without a lot of pressure, whether they can rebound vs the competition of the game, free throw %. General physical skills are evident in videos but you can tell more in live games, including something about how a player approaches a game mentally.

In the PTL, I'd love to see TD and MG play together but I doubt that will happen.
TD with Jok would be an interesting track meet.
MG, TD, or Sapp with Woody or Olaseni might encourage more passes into the post this year.
White with Uthoff or Uhl would be good for both parties.

The PTL games I attended years ago were intense and I believe it helps the players with their game and familiarizes them with each other's ability.....

It is certainly better than playing pickup ball somewhere or doing nothing.....

This season I shall be there with my son and perhaps daughter.....
