You all saw the double double and Gabe showing some touch and power.

Combo 20 points 16 rebounds from the two centers , super stuff.

That was a resounding win.

I wonder how many minutes Gabe could play in an up and down the court game

I thought they both played great as well. Gabe's confidence is sky high and Woody seems to be getting his mojo back as well. I love it when he's patient with his moves and knows where he is on the court and doesn't rush. Even without being a high riser, good things tend to happen for Woody when he makes his moves under control instead of trying to be quicker than he is.

On radio post game, Gabe really complimented Woody. He said they were brothers and really worked hard to make each other better. When he makes a good play, Woody is the 1st one to congratulate him. They are a great combo!

I agree that both played well. It was a good team win and our depth was and will continue to be a major factor. Another game Tuesday...So what!

Both played great. GO is noticed more because of his offense and blocks. But Woody eats up so much of the lane that even when Iowa gets beat off the dribble he deters the drivers to kick it or dribble back out of the lane. He's great on defense hedges. He's constantly talking on defense. He does so much good work that doesn't show up on the stat sheet.

All the love that GO is getting as a junior; Woody will be getting a lot of it, too, as a junior.

Props to Woodbury & Gabe.

It's been easy to criticize Woody, with the expectations (perhaps unfair) that he arrived with. But it's obvious the kid is a team player and a winner. Gotta love that.

Both compliment each other and played so well today Iowa rarely went without a Center on the floor...fun to watch.

I love rooting for Woody of course.
But it's kind of like rooting for a walk-on player anymore, like when Jason "Eddie" Bauer used to play.
Like; "Hey! Look at this big guy working hard and coming around! Yay!"

I think if we forget he was supposedly this highly touted recruit and start thinking of him more as a 7 foot Eddie Bauer, we will all be happy.

Gabe is playing with swag. That 1 handed putback dunk..he just threw it down then landed and looked back at the bench like "who wants some of debo". He has really improved the last 2 years dramatically.

Woody did a great job on defense stepping out and cutting off the ball handler coming around a screen. He gives 100% effort and even tho he isn't a great scorer, he passes well and is a huge presence rebounding and defensively.

Props to both players and I'm glad they are both Hawks!
