Progressive thinking finally reaches the recruiters

I can't believe it but this early in the recruiting year Iowa just offered a JUCO LB out of Kansas with offers to Kansas, USF, and WVU. Could it be the staff is finally realizing when you have a position that is all turning over you need to go find immediate help?

I don't think it is necessarily the turnover but the fact the cupboard is bare. Maybe it's the same thing but it seems to me we're lacking talented bodies.

Regardless of why Kirk is doing this I'm glad he's doing it. I have no problem taking on JuCo's that can help immediately. Can we get some at 8 or 9 other positions while we're at it?

iowa has had a juco lb in the same situation in the KF tenure - Bryon Gattas - offers from Kansas and Michigan St. Class of 2006.

Not sure how 'progressive' doing the same thing in 2013 is.

..We also don't have a ton of leads on the premiere LBs in this year's class.

And it seems the Midwest is a bit bare.

With that said, they have a need.. they see some of the desired targets are longshots.. they go after the JuCos early. Sounds pretty smart to me.

.

8-9 other positions? with JUCOs? Do you really think we are this bad on talent? and if so, how do you think we would get Juco's good enough to make that big of a difference.

Or are you just being really negative. It's cool with me if you are, really.
