The narrative is that Iowa's offense sucks and the O-coordinartor has to go. The narrative goes on to talk about the fact that Iowa simply runs the ball up the middle until it can somehow find another play to run, then after that goes back to the same old stuff over and over and over.
I've seen many times where Iowa is so committed to the run that it goes 3 and out 3 stright times and is behind 2 or 3 TDs before they decide to play to win. By then its too late.
We'll see.
Last night I watch each of the Nebraska - Iowa games going back to 2012. I saw Iowa run the ball right at Nebraska, over and over and over. They did it with Marc W in 2012 and 2013.
Iowa played great inspired defense in each of these games.
I expect a lot of the inside / outside zone. I hope to see both Akrum and Leshun in the game at the same time, jet motion with good mix of give to both.
I don't think anything will happen to change what people say and believe about iowa's offense. A nice performance today would take the sting out though.
I'm sitting here before the game feeling like I used to as a kid, before going to the doctor to get a shot - expecting pain.
I sure would like to cheer like hell.
