Predict our record for the year.

Tenn Tech - Win - blowout
Iowa State - Win - blowout
@Pitt - this is a coin flip at best. Win
ULM - Win - blowout
@PSU - Loss - 2 point loss and KOKs offense sucks
NW - Win - 10+ point win
IU - Win - blowout
@Minny - Win - blowout
Michigan - Win - 6 point win
MSU - Win - 4 point win
@Purdue - Win - blowout
@Neb - Win - our schedule sets up very nice this year and Nebbie gets a rude introduction to the Big10. They go @PSU and @Michigan the two weeks prior to us playing them.

Final regular season record: 11-1. Heading to the Rose Bowl as I think Wisky runs the table.

Optimistic to say the least. Beat UM/MSU/NU in a span of 4 games? That would be impressive. I'd venture to guess Iowa is an 8-4/9-3 team.

8-4 with losses to Iowa State, Penn State, Northwestern and Michigan State.

If somehow Iowa gets through September undefeated you can add another win to the record.

Seriously, why would you even throw a comment like that in? Pretty much lose any credibility you may have had when you do that.

And I am sure a genius such as yourself realizes that this offense is a part of Ferentz philosophy and would be the exact same if KOK was not here.

Prediction: 7-5

Hope I am wrong, but I am usually pretty good with prediction of overall Ws and Ls. I was spot on two seasons ago and predicted 8-4 last season, so was pretty close there.

Prior to injuries during fall camp, I would have said 9-3 or 10-2.

Now, I'm leaning towards 8-4 ... with 9-3 being a definite possibility.

Who do you think Iowa will lose to? I think 7-5 is a stretch but if we get a lot of injuries like last year I can see it.

Tennessee Tech, Iowa State, Louisiana Monroe, Indiana, and Minnesota. Just kidding.

Pitt, PSU, NW, Michigan, Nebraska.

Again, I hope I am wrong, but 7-5 is how I see it.

Ferentz philosophy blah blah blah, that's everyones defense for KOKs inability to actually call plays that work or to actually develop a QB. KOK calls the plays but Ferentz has veto power.

Last time I checked Ferentz wasn't calling the plays from the sidelines 99% of the time. He may give his OC some guidance but the actual play calls are up to KOK.

KOK sucks. If he didn't then he would have had a HC offer by now - he's been our OC for 13 years which is considered a long-time by all accounts. KOK makes just over $260k per year plus a max bonus of $43k. Only the lowest paid five HC make less than KOK does currently. They are from MTSU, N Texas, WKU, Idaho and Akron.

Here is a partial list of OCs that have gone on to be a HC since last year:

Gus Malzahn
Dan Holgorson
Kevin Wilson
Bryan Harsin
Don Treadwell
David Shaw
Chad Morris - moved to Clemson as OC after being Co-OC at a smaller school
Al Borges - moved from OC at SDSU to OC at Michigan

KOK sucks.

Gonna have to disagree with you, 12345. I golfed with Chuck Long at a charity event this summer. This topic came up. KF owns the play book. Not saying any of the above wouldn't be better, but they would be just as handcuffed as O'Keefe is.

Me too ... possibly even 5-7. I think Iowa is a 9 win team on paper that will perform like a 6 or 7 win team on the field due to inexperience and injuries (the dominoes have already begun to fall) on defense + the obligatory one that they shouldn't lose.

While Tenn Tech and ULM will be wins, neither will be blowouts -- relative to the spread -- I see 33-10 over TTU (with a sluggish start that sees a punt on the first series) and a very uncomfortable 24-10 over ULM (that might even see them score 1st!).

Loss at ISU -- just a feeling.

Win over Pitt -- might be the highlight of the year.

Win at PSU. (50/50 but going with recent history.)

The losing streak continues against NW. (It's just their thing.)

Homecoming win over Indiana.

I really want a gopher beat-down for the inexcusable loss in 2010 but it's Halloween weekend (scary) and I just don't like the match up of Gray's running threat against Iowa's D. Iowa has little experience against him and history says newbies look like AA's against Iowa. None the less, I'll give Iowa the "homer" W.

Losses to both Michigan (DR will carve Hawks up and their D will be improved enough to eek out 38-35) and MSU -- well it's their turn.

Win at Purdue (because they are more beat up than Iowa but this one is 50/50.)

Loss at Nebraska.

W's = TTU, Pitt, ULM, Indiana
L's = ISU, NW, UM, MSU, UNeb
??? = PSU, Minny, PU

I got the hawks at 8-4. Could be higher but it's tough to replace that much of the d-line. Also, I'm as big of a Cyclone fan as there is but I don't think you'll lose in Ames this year. I don't think it will be a blowout, because I don't think either team will score much. But I'd be very surprised to win this year.
