Has the men's BB team always had to share Carver with woman's BB and volleyball? I not not remember Lute, Raveling or Mr. Davis complaining about this.

It's about keeping up with the Joneses. Back in the day, nobody had expensive practice facilities, so Iowa was on par. Now a lot of schools have great practice facilities, so Iowa is behind. Things change. NCAA athletics have a lot more money in them now.

Chicks are hotter now days...too many distractions during practice leading to poor play on the court...

We're talking about practice man.... practice... not the actual game.. not the game these players love.... but practice. Practice man!

Practice doesn't matter... haven't we all learned from AI?

If there were chicks around, AI probably would've showed up for it more! :D

Back in the day, Carver was state of the art. Raveling said once in an interview that if he could get a recruit on campus for a visit, there was a 90% chance that they'd commit to the program. Not that that success had everything to do with the facilities, but at the time, CHA was extremely impressive.

Ralph Miller and Lute had success at Iowa and with the old Fieldhouse they couldn't even have a closed practice. I mean it was a complete zoo!

Baseball players were hitting in the cages behind the south bleachers, wrestlers would be running between the basket and the south bleachers, go under the upper deck and come out on the north end of the court. It was a regular three ring circus.
