Poster of Hoiberg in the DSM Rag....

LOL...good god, the guy coached there 5 years, got em to the Sweet 16 once. (that's an impressive 2 game run in the NCAA tourney)

Well you remember how great Seneca Wallace was....right?

Seriously?

This. He is 40 something years old and he did some good things at ISU, but nothing to warrant a poster. I get why the Register would start catering more to ISU fans than Iowa fans, but this? Really?

don't forget his two conference tourney wins - signed, steve alfred.

True that.

I also can't help but think the NCAA may have something to say about St Freddie's program ultimately. No way all these "instant recruiting" techniques were squeaky clean. Can only imagine what the graduation rate of his players will look like.

Then again, this is the school that managed to keep Troy and Darren Davis eligible for 3-4 years.

Keith Murphy following the Hoiberg family around Chicago for a week is pretty embarrassing as well. I assume he’d do the same thing if Fran left?

Wow, I'm really shocked that the Dem Moynes Cyclone Ragister would pull something like that.

'Surprise, surprise surprise'

Didn't we run Tom Davis off for doing basically the same things? Winning his first round ncaa games...going to a sweet sixteen once every five years?

this is the thing about the hoiberg pen is suc king fest that I don't understand. When lute, Davis and Orr were here along with Floyd the basketball teams accomplished similar feats.

Keith Murphy is a class act. He is one if the best sportscasters I've ever watched. Don't pick on him for following history. Hoiberg had a great run. Give the man some credit.

Keith Murphy is a very good sportscaster, but no, I don't think the same would be done for Fran. Especially by anyone from channel 13. They all seemed very upset over the Woody eye poking thing when Fran came down on Keith's favorite little guy in Admire in the post game presser.

The butthurt is strong in this thread.

Sure, you can argue on what your idea of on the court success is, but the facts remain that Hoiberg did well enough that the Bulls wanted him. Nearly 100% of all national media (unless you're Stephen A Smith) think Hoiberg is one of the best minds in basketball. He turned a dormant program into a perennial top 25 team/NCAA team in under 5 years.

And for those who are actually ripping Keith Murphy...get a life. He's one of the classiest, most professional media members in the state and Iowa is lucky to have him.

If FH was 70 something years old and riding off into the sunset to drink lemonade on his front porch and take the grandkids fishing then I get it. Legendary player comes back and revives a dead program.

But he is 43 years old, used ISU as stepping stone job, left without any significant accomplishments and leaves a program that has to start over from scratch in 2 years. This doesn't warrant a poster.

As for the Murph stuff, I like the guy, but if he was following Hoiberg and his family around for a week then that is straight up laughable. If some NBA team was pursuing FM ain't no way Murph is following him and his family around for week.

Me thinks you don't understand the term "butthurt". We're laughing at the absurdity of it...even more so, that clones like you don't see how absurd it is.

The only thing Butthurt anywhere is ISU fans since their beloved coached just used them to get a better gig in the NBA....and Hoiberg didn't really do that much for ISU except lose to worse teams in the NCAA a lot...sorry he not all that and then some...

As for Muphy following him around in Chicago, it is a flipping JOKE nothing more.

Did Murphy follow Kirk around when he was being pursued by NFL teams? Just wonderin'.

And Kirk accomplished more than Hoiberg.

everyone save for clown is laughing at the embarrassment that you should feel for floyd of mayberry having a poster in the register.

butthurt? that's what you'll feel next year when you realized mr. dreamy left you with the cupboards completely bare.

I like Keith Murphy and enjoy listening to the Murph and Andy show on KNXO, but that guy certainly had an annoying crush on Fred Hoiberg. Hopefully going forward he becomes more professional and starts being impartial
