I just began writing a series on what I think Iowa's 2012-2013 player stats will look like...points per game, rebounds per game, assists per game in some intances...looking at where I think they will improve, etc....as well as posting the stats I expect for the newcomers.

I already have my projections written down for each player and will write the capsules around those projections and will post the first two players later today/this evening, but I curious as to what you think. So fire away

Come on dude. Get serious will you?

You know all of these are at least 1-2 tenth's of a point off. Don't be insane.

I like the humor and I like the totals: 48 to 52 points from the "starters" (they will change as need be over the season) and another 26 to 29 points from the bench.

Much depends on Gesell's ability to fit in as a frosh.. if he can end up averaging over 5 assists a game (and better in the Big Ten) and Iowa begins to rebound again like it once did.

Key though is changing defenses, some full court pressure, another defensive change, some 3/4 court pressures and LOCK.. STOP D when they need it will really measure the success of Iowa next years and years to come.

Iowa under Fran will score enough... can they make stops enough and can they rebound as tough as any team from Iowa needs to be?

Our press and half court trap should create problems and turnovers, we have to create more turnovers than the opponent and we should be alright.....

I would think our D will be better all around, especially with the defensive specialists, Ingram and Clemmons coming on board. With Fran shifting the lineup around with many possible combinations, we should be able to keep the opponent off balance, Hopefully, that is.....

pg - gesell (7 pts, 4.5 assts) & clemmons (4 pts, 4 assts)
sg - ogelsby (10 pts, 39% 3ptrs) & ingram (4 pts, 1.5 steals)
sf - marble (14 pts, 3 assts, 1.5 steals) & may (4 pts, 4 rebs)
pf - white (13 pts, 5.5 rebs, 1 blk) & basabe (8 pts, 5 rebs, 1 blk) & meyer (3 pts, 4 rebs, 1 blk)
c - woodbury (6 pts, 6 rebs, 1 blk), mccabe (6 pts, 5 rebs) & olaseni (1 pt, 3 rebs, 1 blk)

i have everything spaced very evenly i believe. i actuall gave gabe the benefit of the doubt that he might play and gave 12 men. 50 pts to our starters and 30 pts to our bench. 80 pts per game is a lot but we run and we had some big scoring games to average with our low scoring ones to go to our 72 pts per game this yr. i see more high and less low to account for a higher average. will it get to my pie in the sky 80? probably not but i think it is closer to 80 than it is 72.

You guys are ballsy.... I have absolutely no idea. I do know we will be improved and that we will be bac... Depending on things we might be back.

Very true. Everyone here has them at about 80 or more. That'd put em damn near the top 5 in the country in points scored.

Last year at this time most were predicting great things for the new and improved Eric May the second year Basabe and Anothy Hubbard while being disinterested in Aaron White.
