There are plenty of players who have to be bugged with the staff's boneheaded player personnel decisions, but others are clearly benefiting. Who is the luckiest to be on this squad?
A. Bullock - likely a 4th or 5th stringer on another Big 10 team, at Iowa, he is often the feature back and is the prime beneficiary of the infamous check down passing scheme. His hard work paid off.
B. Rudock - the coach loves him to death, no matter how he plays. Coach can't compliment how well the backup plays without referencing Rudock. Doesn't have a strong arm, but doesn't need it in a check down scheme. Does well in the classroom and this coach rewards it with major college playing time.
C. Scherff - perhaps the beneficiary of preseason hype as a result of Ferentz's OL pedigree that put him on many pre-season watch lists. A great OL in his own right, but a top 10 draft pick in reality?
D. Kidd - goes from being an average JUCO punter to the starting punter on a Big 10 team, with all of the benefits that come with that. Not clear that he is a Big 10 caliber punter but he gets plenty of reps.
