The Fiesta Bowl wanted to pick Iowa, but political reasons led to a TCU-Boise State matchup, Scott Dochterman writes in The (Cedar Rapids) Gazette.

I don't think this supprises anyone of us. Hind sight, beating up on GT (ACC champs) is much better IMO than a victory against TCU or Boise St. I hope the BCS dies.
