Polecat--Fake FG

Not sure you can call it a fake FG, since I don't think our kicker was on the field (could be wrong, but he wasn't in kicking position), our punter was kind of in punt formation, but we were at the 20, so we weren't punting it, then AJ Epenesa went in motion. What do you call it? Polecat!

I was hoping so much he would get the TD.

Same with Butler on his long run.

Hey so someone help me out here, the guy who snapped the ball also caught it. Does anyone know know how he is eligible as a receiver or how that works? I'll be the first to admit I don't understand it. Does he have to report as eligible?

He is elgible because he is uncovered meaning the guys split right were technically in backfield. The center was also the right "tight end"

I had to rewind to catch that. And was impressed the refs didn't accidentally throw a flag. It's a play like this where I've always wondered if a coach tells a ref we are going to run a play like this so don't throw the flag.

At all levels, a coach will meet with the officials before the game to inform them of any possible tricky plays or formations they may run. For an official, though, this isn't that tough. They count the 4 in the backfield and the end man on their side of the LOS. It's what they do every play and are trained not to see it as a tricky formation or to "watch" the game as we would. Basically, it was a swinging gate formation, which a lot of HS's run.
