From the Greg Davis transcript posted on the front page....

"Q. Is part of it at all you guys wanted to kind of take the ambiguity out of quarterback, and you guys ‑‑ outside of the huge question that was answered late you wanted to answer that early?

Has Greg been lurking on message boards and now taking shots?
 
From reading these transcripts I believe Jon is using voice recognition software. Lots of bad interpretations in every story. But still funny, even though I think posters who call Ferentz Kurt are juvenile.

Neither. It's actually Kirk. And I agree with HawkeyeTech: "I think posters who call Ferentz Kurt are juvenile." The sad part is that I could give HawkeyeTech only one thumbs up.

It's what juvenile posters who think they are being clever call Kirk. I suppose it's because he sometimes is terse with the press. He at least answers the questions they pose, no matter how asinine the questions might be. If it were me, I'd pull a Marshawn Lynch.

Honestly, I think they're just having a little fun with it. Some because that's what people (in the media, etc.) thought his name was when he first got here, and others to show they've lost respect for him.

I agree about the questions from the media. I'd never make it. I hope I'd pull a Lynch, but it'd probably be more like the Reds' manager.
 
People that have a problem with Kirk being called Kurt, are uptight fun haters that probably wear Depends.

^^ Agree. Kirk is not a god and posters on this message board get way bent out of shape about so many almost meaningless things.

Calling Kirk Kurt is just a play on words to accent a point. Let it go people. Kirk doesnt know this stuff and for $4 million a year I think he has the thick skin.

What is a lot worse is calling out players in a rude way, and I dont see that much on this site, which is good.
 
I've actually goofed on his name so many times, sometimes I get confused as to what his real name actually is.

Me too!! I read the transcript, did a double take / stop-n-think for a second and proceeded on thinking it was correct.

I've been proselytizing against Kurt, err, Kirt, err, Kirk ... you know who I mean ... to be gone from Iowa football for so long, I wasn't even sure. (Nor do I really care what his first name is at this point.)

Well, there are worse things. After Sam Aiello thrashed Jon Beutger years ago, Beutger's uncle referred to Ferentz as "Ferret." And I am sure that it wasn't a typo...
