Please Post Questions for 5/20 Mailbag Pod Here

After the success in the Holiday bowl vs USC, and given the quality of the recieving corp, do you anticipate Iowa opening up the playbook in 2020?

How are the Hawks getting these commitments during a "dead" period?

Will this "down" time hurt QB development more than other positions?

Have you heard anything on the new wrestling facility expansion? Was wondering since it'll be privately-funded and didn't know if the COVID stuff had affected donations or plans, etc.

In the Big Ten West, who is your sleeper team we need to keep an eye on?

I need to know what's in this "hooch" and did you have some today?

These are kickass pods, btw. The one last week where I asked a question was the first one I listened to all the way through. I should have started earlier.

Thanks. I can't listen. Don't like my voice. Have lost quite a bit of the East Coast accent after 23 years in Iowa City, but it's still there.

Tell me what you know about the recruitment of Southeast Polk’s Xavier Nwankpo, Jaxon Dailey, and especially Kadyn Proctor. What are our chances of getting all of these guys?

I'm not sure I heard how you wound up in Iowa City, could you share that on your podcast? IIRC you said you were from New Jersey? Rutgers fan growing up?

1. Is it your sense that the staff would be fine if there were no QB commit in this class?
2. Do you think Skyler Bell delayed his commit date because Iowa was full and he was planning on committing to Iowa? Would Iowa take a 4th WR in this class?
3. Every year there's a "story" that emerges on the team. Who's your pick for the "story" for this year (assuming we play of course)?

Jestin Jacobs, Jack Campbell, Dillon Doyle.

Which of those three players has the biggest impact this year and in what role?

Julius Brents, Riley Moss, DJ Johnson.

I believe Iowa has lost 8 of the last 9 games to Wisconsin. Do you think it is time for a schematic and/or philosophical change to how Iowa approaches this game? If so, what changes would you implement?

I believe you pronounce the word 'tournament' with an 'r' so you are all good, brother.:)

Don’t feel bad. I cringe every time I have to page someone over the intercom from my office.

How crazy is it that Iowa has not had a top 50 rushing attack the past decade despite having the 6th most OL drafted in the same time frame? They have averaged #80 in yards/attempt and #74 in yards/game. Do you think that’s primarily due to the zone scheme or lack of perimeter weapons?

Is Keith Duncan a first team All-American when all the footballs magazines start coming out in June? Who else can make a case for preseason All-American honors?

The DJ Johnson move to the transfer portal begged a question from me - Without spring practice, is the depth chart static from where it was at the end of last season (of course, not including the guys who graduated or left early)? Guys like DJ might have made a move up the depth chart this spring, but without practice, was he heading into fall practice stuck in the same place on the depth chart?

If so, I can see the lack of spring practice having another unintended consequence - guys leaving the program now because the don't want to risk waiting for the fall for their chance to see if they'll play more. I thought he showed signs of being a really good player and am sorry to see him go.

Edit - Given DJ's recent tweet, this question doesn't seem to apply to his circumstance, but I'd still like to hear your opinion on this.
