Players with Flu

SIAP Just heard Fran say postgame that Cole and Basabe have the flu. It somewhat excuses their poor first half. Cole was throwing up last night and hasn't eaten in over 24 hours and they put him on an IV to "see if he could just walk". Quite a performance going out and getting us a double-double.

Basabe is just coming down with the symptoms but had a headache, stomach ache and did not eat this afternoon. Fran said he played in the first half like he didn't want to be there so he got on him and Basabe delivered effecting the game early in the second half.

Not sure about anyone else

Why don't the players and coaches get flu shots (maybe they did)? At least try to minimize your exposure by getting the shots.

btw, i think athletes are strongly encouraged, if not actually required to receive an influenza vaccination.

If Cole keeps this kind of performance going, he could really cement a solid legacy for himself when he's done. Never a game-changer, he won't lead us to 20 wins. But he puts out this kind of tough, gritty effort EVERY night out. He is going to play a VERY big role in setting the foundation for the future, and I sincerely hope that nobody ever forgets what he did for the program.

Playing BBall with the flu (or stomach virus) is damn near impossible. Shows some guts and devotion.

I've done it before, and it feels like you've played an entire game when you've only been in there for about 2 minutes.
