I've seen the posts alluding to all the players at Pitt that have asked for their release. Definitely makes sense that Fran and the fellas should be watching for a fit there. For me, the first thing I thought of when I heard of Pitts misfortune is that Matt Woodley would look good returning home as an assistant to the Head Coach. Matt is an Iowa guy, who knows some stuff about defense and is a very good recruiter. At Washington State under Bennett as the recruiting coordinator he landed them a top 20 recruiting class, and WSU ain't an easy place to recruit to either. I know there's not a lot of talk about adding assistants or whatever, but if an opportunity opened up on the staff, this is kinda a no-brainer. Matt had been added to the Pitt staff last year as a special assistant.
