A couple notes from Big Ten commish Jim Delany: said Big Ten will talk with Pinstripe Bowl (Yankee Stadium) for next bowl cycle ...

I know ISU was there last year, but honestly, I do not think it would be so bad as a bowl destination at least one time. Lot of fans on the East Coast could attend, it is NYC around NY's eve,and Yankee stadium is a bucket list site for some fans.
Plus, winnable game,ISU losing to Rutgers notwithstanding.
It would beat staying home for the holidays.

I went to the Pinstripe bowl and it is a much better experience than anticipated. Yankee Stadium is a surprisingly a pretty cool place to watch a football game. Also, it was pretty sweet to be in downtown NYC at the bars and then hop on the subway and be at Yankee Stadium for the game. I'm sure it is a much better bowl game than the Pizza bowl. Perhaps another Big 12 vs. Big 10 bowl?

I don't know what some of you have against New York City. I'm certainly not a city person, but that's a neat place to visit! Jeez, when we were there we went to the Statue of liberty, top of the North Twin Trade Tower, Empire State Building, The Holocost Museum, and for the first time since being on the Island of Lido (off the city of Venice) at a little Italian Restaurant off the main drag near Battery Park, I had an exact duplicate, of the veal marsalla I had in Italy. On that trip my wife also had her picture taken with Matt Laur and Katie Couric. With regard to Yankee stadium, in the late 50's I saw Mickey Mantle hit a double, and Yogi Berra park one in the right field bleachers. Guess what I'm trying to say is: I think Yankee Stadium would be agreat place to see The Hawks play.

Yankee Stadium would be legit. Not sure why the OP has no love.

Cold weather bowls don't seem like a good time. On top of that you are fighting a crowd that more than likely has had their vacation booked to New York for New Years for a while. I myself have never been to Times Square for NYE however I have had several family members attend it and they all say the same thing. Overrated. Overcrowded, no booze, and everything is extremely overpriced. If the B1G is dumping the Detroit bowl for this, then OK. But I hope they don't dump a warm weather bowl for it.

Good points, the cold weather would certainly be a bummer. Hopefully, the 8 mile bowl is replaced by this one. The main appeal is this bowl is unique in a cluster of mid range bowls that blur together. Plus, everybody loves the Yankees.

Well shucks, I was thinking this would be in the middle of the summer. I'm not big on cold weather bowls either.

A lot of people I know went and the place was legit, said it was an amazing feeling being there. Could not image what it would have been like to play at the old Yankee stadium but some said they still had goosebumps.

Well your talking to people who are happy to go anywhere.

I can't imagine that you cannot image it. What kind of camera do you have? Maybe it's time for a new one. Anyway, when it's cold I get goosebumps in my backyard.
