Pearl: high risk, high reward

I understand that Pearl is the top choice of many, myself included.

Pearl has done well everywhere he has been but....

I just wanted to hear some thoughts from others on this board.

First of all... nothing is guaranteed.

What if we did get Pearl and he wasn't able to turn the program around?
We would be spending millions of dollars in order to get Pearl and I understand why because Barta needs to make the homerun hire.

This would be a HUGE setback for our program.

I guess I haven't heard anybody state the risk of going after Pearl. Thought I would lay a few out there on the table.

Is there not a guy out there that may be able to get the job done just as good as Pearl, but not have the risk?

I guess this is the question I'm raising. It becomes a value question.
