i would pay a small subscription fee for HN if that removed all ads. I think the folks that run this deserve to make at least enough money to keep the lights on, with a bit of profit on the side. But if it was subscription WITH annoying ads, that's a deal-breaker. I would just use Twitter at that point.

There is only a finite amount of information to be had with the Iowa program. I think dochterman at the athletic and the guys at rivals probably do good work, but what possibly can they tell me that leistikow and Marc morehouse can’t?

I should have said "news and insights". The news eventually comes out. The insights don't necessarily eventually leak out...sometimes they have a shelf life and other times they dont.
