Paterno = The Godfather

As this thing unravels it's looking a whole lot like a mafia movie.

A "family" which you don't step outside of, lest you be destroyed. An elder Godfather who...despite his advancing age... wields ultimate power. A denial and systematic cover-up of wrong-doings. And you go along...or else. (Sandusky? Fougedda boudit... We'll take care of everything. You just keep quiet)

But most of all...you protect the Godfather at all costs. Look what happened to the DA who tried to prosecute. Look at how McCleary is suddenly the focus of all the anger... while Paterno is still being pitied by many. Unbelievable.

This is a real-life Godfather movie. Hell, Paterno even sounds like Brando. Eerie.

Um...McQueary KEPT his job. The DA missing had some REAL mob-type cases going on.

Not excusing Paterno, but McQueary SAW it, waited a day to tell Paterno (who did NOT witness it)...and the "best" the PSU trustees come up with is "keep McQueary off the sideline for his own safety"?!

And you call Paterno "the Godfather"? You obviously have zero clue how the mob operates. Twisted.

Of course it's not a perfect analogy. But "culturally" it's similar.

Perhaps I should delete my OP, or have someone else start my car tomorrow morning.
