After watching PUrdue and Minnesota games, I'm just a bit nervous about Iowa's ability to limit USC in the passing game. Seems that they let WR get behind them. A good QB who hits guys in stride will be lethal.
Yeah I think we will be ok also. The one thing is that when you start slinging the ball all over on the Hawks, you can about guess we are going to get a couple picks.
Just prevent the big plays, because the field gets smaller inside the red zone.
With a month to prepare that is something that is very "fixable". I'm sure Phil has been showing the DBs and safeties these issues and harping on this in preparation. I think we missed Brents back there this year and hope he is healthy next year.
I’d also point out that the Minnesota passing yards came at the expense of the clock.
I read on on of the USC message boards that several fans thought the easiest way to shut down the Trojan offense was to rush 3 and play a bunch of cloud. Since Iowa’s base defense is virtually that to start with, I’m not going to be shocked if USC has problems scoring. Slovis isn’t the most mobile of QBs.
It seems that USC plays better when Helton’s job is on the line. With his recent extension, I’d call his job safe through the bowl season.
