parking for nebby game w/o pass

going to my first home game in several years (out of state fan). In the past I always went with people who had parking passes. If I don't have a pass - where is the best place to park? Going with my nephew = not looking for a big party scene, either just a quick beer and food, more of the family friendly side.

thanks!

This is a great question. I asked this last week.

I am going to be bringing my bus, which lot is the best lot for me to park in? I should mentioned it is just a small 15 passenger bus that has a ford van body on it.

Lots of season ticket holders don't go to this game due to the holiday conflicts. Look online and contact the university for parking options. You'll probably find some

The hospital parking ramp. Its on Melrose, a block from the stadium, and $25 to park. You're right at the stadium for fun family stuff like the hawk walk, there is food and brews all within walking distance.

If you have a car/SUV, drive up Koser Ave (west on Melrose, Left at Stella's). There is plenty of yard parking for $25-30 all along there. Most won't allow buses or big (15-passenger) vans. 3-4 block walk to the stadium

Hancher is a good option that gives easy access to/from the interstate from exit 244. There are a couple of lots just East across the Burlington street bridge. Not sure on the bus though. Hancher might be your best bet for parking a bus. If you want a unique experience, park out by Coral Ridge mall and take the train to the game. Team arrives on the South side of the stadium between 12:15 and 12:30 probably and that is fun for the kids. Lots of food vendors there on Melrose as well.

Lower Finkbine or take the hawkeye express across from the mall...both good options along with the ones mentioned above.

If you aren't looking to tailgate much, then parking in Coralville and riding the Hawkeye Express (train) to Kinnick is a no-brainer. It costs $12/ticket for adults, but kids 12 & under ride for free. It's only about a 12 minute ride and a neat experience for the kids too.
