Palmer & Coach say Ref/Injury cost him

Palmer did almost nothing all match, offensively anyway. It' hard to win without an offensive point. I was a little disappointed Metcalf didn't unload on him after the loss 2 weeks prior.

Wonder what Metcalf will tweet after he hears that.

You mean fake Metcalf...its not the real one. Palmer and Ryan are saying hey, I got in a bad position and needed the ref to bail me out so I tried calling injury time to get the match stopped

I didn't see them really blame the refs in this article. They claimed Palmer called for injury time and the ref must not have seen it. It was his fault for only calling for it one time. Metcalf was going to try to turn him until the ref bailed Palmer out. Regardless, Metcalf is 5-1 career against Palmer and just beat him for the national title. Who do you think is the better wrestler??

Agreed that he's not blaming the refs. He was saying the long ride in the 1st was the difference. I'm sure he thinks that if the ref had stopped it, he could have escaped sooner. But the funny thing is if Palmer was really, really hurting, he would have tapped again. I think he didn't hurt that bad and maybe was actually trying to do the honorable thing by fighting through it and not wussing out.

Of course this kid would have to blame something other than saying he flat out lost. If he was hurt for an entire minute and Metcalf was wrenching on his leg, he would have been squealing like a pig. Then he gets the "injury" break and comes out, jumps right up, and runs off the mat 2 times and was fine...don't think so. I also love how Ryan said the later the match went on, the better it was for them...when has that ever been a strategy on Metcalf??? Never. You can't out-gas Brent. This kid is just a punk and doesn't want to admit that Metcalf is the better wrestler because he beat him ONCE.

I agree totally,he was broke down so he tried to tap out for a fake injury( I'll bet the coaches and him talked about that before the match). His knee looked fine after they did give him a breather(surprise, surprise).By the way how many times did Palmer shoot in the 3rd period(ZERO).
