Packer's game looked very familiar

3rd and long, running QB gets a first down. Or blitz and almost get him but he runs for a 60 yard touchdown. Felt very normal watching that game on a Saturday. Man, something needs to change in GB on that defense.

Dom Capers get the boot? The Steelers would be willing to take AJ Hawk or Clay Matthews off their hands if they do not want these guys.:)

I don't have an issue with the players. I think their secondary is very good. Lots of really good passes by Kap. I would let Hawk go, no problem, and Matthews will be with the Packers for a good long while. I think they need a switch from the 3-4. I don't like the system. And Capers kept on blitzing and leaving the middle of the field wide open for Kap to run. It was sad, when you play man D in the secondary you can't do that with a running QB. I do think Capers needs to go. I think if they hadn't gone absolutely lucky/crazy 2 years ago an won the SB he would not be here. I think the 4-3 is a better strategy, especially for the division they play in. And they need some better linebackers/rush ends.

That is just the zone blitz scheme, if you do not have the right personnel in the right spot it is easy defense to expose. It is a risk/reward type of scheme, it is great if you can get pressure on the QB, if you can't then weaknesses gets exposed. Aaron Rogers is a great QB and a great QB can mask a lot of issues especially in today's NFL.

Its no secret GB has no future plans for AJ Hawk.

Was listening to the radio the other day I completely forgot that the packers went all defense last year in the draft. I realize that Driver was probably gone, but they are talking not only Driver, but Jennings and Finely might be gone as well. They might have to get a tackle and they definitely need a runningback......Ted Thompson has his work cut out for him.

As for AJ Hawk, i did not realize he was playing this poorly, granted he had bad game against the 49ers, I did not know it was indictative(sp?) of his whole season. That being said, if the steelers decide not to bring back Larry Foote i would still take him.

The packers have some glaring problems. OL depth is one, but getting Bulaga back will help. They still need a true center as Saturday did not pan out, and getting a stud LT would be huge, though with the 26th pick that usually doesn't happen, but you never know.

I agree that they need a RB, but you can usually get a decent one in the third or fourth round. they've done ok with 7th rounders and FA rbs, but need to step it up. I could see Montee Ball falling that far or Cierre Wood is projected 3rd rounder, might be a good spot. (not sure on where and how many draft picks the pack have this year)

LB is another huge need, not a Matthews, but a good mobile linebacker. Like another Brad Jones. Hawk is done, he has underachieved since day he was drafted. I don't dislike him, but a change is needed. I think they will try to bring Jennings back, but Cobb did a nice job while he was out. However, the pack need many options and I don't think Jennings can be replaced.

IMO Finley can go. He is a freak athlete, but he has had many drops, and isn't nearly as productive as he should be due to past injuries. I think they could move on here.

they also need to get a safety. I mean a good solid safety. Woodson is done or nearly done due to age and injuries and he is due 10 mil next year, TT won't like that, and really Burnett is ok, but m.d jennings is serviceable at best.

Lots of need, and maybe they could get one of those with a decent FA. I don't know, but it could get interesting.

BTW, as much as I hate the 3-4, always have, and don't think it's good for the pack, I believe Capers will be retained.

How old is Jennings, late 20's????? With Aaron Rogers the Packers should be the Patriots of the NFC, just keep Rogers healthy and plug in people everywhere else, it shouldn't be this difficult.

Jennings will be 30 in September. Though I think they can find somebody to replace him, the offense looked much better with him in there than without him. I think they need to try to keep him for 3 or 4 years, but not sure that will be possible. cobb can slide into his spot, but then you need to find someone to take Cobb's spot and that takes some time to get and develop that guy. Jennings has the knack of just making plays too, something that is not easy to replace, and Rodgers feels very comfortable with him. If they're going to give a contract, I hope it is to him.
