Owen Freeman OUT for remainder of the season!!!!

Yeah, if I were a betting man, we've watched our last game of Owen Freeman in an Iowa jersey. If this season wasn't lost already, you'd feel like a broken finger isn't going to keep a guy out for the season. It probably does though if you know there's virtually nothing to play for and you, the coach and most of the rest of the team won't be here in a few months anyways.

This is the worst news

Realistically, we seriously could lose the rest of the games

We were a long shot for the NIT, and The Dance was long gone

Riley is going to get more minutes and Brauns also, Riley has been playing
well the last few games, playing with enthusiasm and making baskets

Dembele and Tadjo will have to step up

I, of course, will watch every game, bleeding Black and Gold and all that

How long do we have to wait for next year's rebuild

This is yet another piece of bad luck that almost destroyed our football season and has now crippled our already wounded basketball team. Sorry for whining, but this 24-25 season (s) has been one of the toughest to deal with in a long time, at least for me. Of course, I am still and always will be a Hawkeye.

What happened to the days where players loved the game and couldn't wait to get back on the court with their teammates? This isn't meant for Owen. It's in reference to the idea that there's nothing to play for anymore.

I feel like this team could have used Cooper Koch, it was almost like a foregone conclusion once he got back that they were shutting him down, even though Iowa needed another body pretty bad. A lot of players play through broken fingers and Iowa is still in a lot of brackets last 4 out

If this is Fran's last season, who on this team would come back next season? Koch?? Pryce Sandfort??

Freeman and Dix are the most likely to leave, because they can get the most NIL

If Brock stays Freeman might stay

I believe Pryce is all in for the Hawks

There is a very good recruiting class coming in and Koch will probably stay because of the Iowa
connection

I think Dix will stay, it is his senior season, for some reason I don't see him in the NBA perhaps
in the G League playing with Garza and Bohannon on the same team

That would be cool and might make me go to the games

That snowball has began... Only possible Ws I see left on the schedule are Oregon, Washington at home and NW on the road. Throw Rutgers in there I suppose too they've underachieved some but regardless all of those games we're gonna struggle in without Freeman. We very well won't be favored too. Maybe we pluck off 1 or 2 of those but certainly not all and the rest I think we have next to no chance of winning.

Purdue, Wisky, MD are 3 of our next 4 with IL MSU and NE on the road. Yikes people. Just yikes

I thought he was playing uninspired the last couple of weeks. Seems like Fran may be a little hard on Brock as well.
Don't know what to think of it.

The B1Gs we have now are going have to grow leaps and bounds. It’s their time to shine.

On the bright side this will give them some good experience going into next season. Although the “next season” talking points is getting old. The Bear’s, Cub’s, and Bull’s fan all know too well how that goes. Freeman was the only superstar on the team. Every one else rates, good, average, and below average. Most in the last two brackets I just mentioned.

Well, at least the woman’s team was brilliant yesterday. We got that anyway. I am not ready to rule out the NIT for the men just yet, although rooting for an NIT bid is a bit depressing on the best of days.
