We don't have anyone who can create their own shot and make them... not who plays consistently.

Gessell can... but his shot just isn't where it needs to be - very inconsistent.

I know it is more fun to look at chemistry issues and drama, but this is one of the core problem that has led to our losing.

You can't consistently execute in the half-court with one shot creator. The book to beat Iowa is simple--limit their transition offense and make them execute in the half-court. We haven't been good in the half-court offense for 2 years. Even Northwestern had two guys that could get shots in Crawford and Demps.

Our defensive issues further exacerbate the issues. Because if we can't get stops and defensive rebounds, we can't run transition offense.

Not much to be positive about right now other than knowing we get to play at least one more game due to the great play of the team in the early season. Hard to win games when you only have one player that can make shots consistently. Did Gessell make one shot? If he makes 30% we probably win that game. Ohter teams know that if they are patient they can work for an open 3,if not take it to the rim. Its been unreal how teams can consistently bury a 3 with time running out on the shot clock against us.
