OUTBACK WOULD BE GREAT BUT

Its likely to be a very tough matchup. Missouri? South Carolina? LSU? of those i would think LSU would be the best chance to win. Missouri is really on a roll and south Carolina is very good. Ferentz does a good job when his team is a big underdog which will be the case if we end up in Florida.

Outback in Florida is a better choice than going to Arizona, but we would have had a better chance playing there

Thanks for the new thread. The likely matchup had not been discussed in the five other bowl matchup threads.

Ah, you cant worry about matchups. take the best bowl you can get, we will be the underdog which suits our coaches and team, and many times we win those matchups.

The hawks are playing really well right now. great run Dee much better pass Dee. very good Off line and running, and better passing

Hawks could be a tough matchup themselves

Kurt is 3-1 versus the Confederate League, and that 1 is highly questionable. I'm certain that the Confederates were expected to roll Team Kurt in each of those games. Not concerned.

Id rather have them face a tough team from the SEC honestly. The last bowl game was a fluke IMO Iowa could have played a lot better than they did against OU but thats football. I'm looking forward to some tough competition this bowl season.

Why is everyone so scared of Mizzou? I honestly think they were better the year we played them than they are this year. Granted, we're not as good and we don't have O'Keefe to bail out the defense, but I think we would play them tight. Our front 7 wouldn't fold the way Auburn is folding.

I don't think there's a team in the country we match up worse with than Missouri. I'd rather play Alabama.

I'd much rather face South Carolina. Missouri's offense would hang 40+ on us.

Mizzou's offense would be gnarly to stop, but their defense would be pulverized by our run game.

Maybe they'd hang points on us, But they'd walk out bruised and bloody; and with less points than we'd hang... Brooooooooo.

Missouri cannot fall below the Cotton or Outback, since they played in the SEC Championship Game.
Iowa would run all over Missouri, and I trust our defense to stop James Franklin more than they could stop Blaine Gabbert.
Cotton will take Texas A&M for another Texas A&M-Texas game.

I'm hoping for a close OSU win, as I think OSU could beat FSU.
l also feel that an SEC team would beat FSU, and thus, I'd have to suffer another year in Nashville hearing the superiority of the SEC for another year.

Iowa's O looks great for up to about 5-6 plays and then sputters - against better teams that is. This offense isn't that good. We need to play a team with a lousey defense to expect to win. IMO.

I'm nominating "Confederate League" for Term/Phrase of the Year for the Poster Awards. It sent me into a "drink, choke, cough" near death situation upon seeing it.

Well played, Mauer...

A better opponent than playing in some lower tier game, to be sure. But that also means it's a better opportunity to get some good pub if we win that game, too. Besides, would you rather Iowa went 6-6 and plays in the whocares.com bowl?

Some of you are clueless and *******. The better the bowl the better the opponent will be. I swear some would rather go to the Texas Bowl and play a nobody. What will it take for some to realize Iowa was a pretty damn good team this year and can compete with whoever they get in the Outback Bowl.

We'll probably get killed but it's a mid-level bowl game, why not play the best and see what happens? That's more fun than beating a 6-6 American Conference team.
