OT - ISU prediction

at a quick glance, I'm predicting 8-4 (5-3). Tied with Nebraska 8-4 (5-3), and Mizzu 8-4 (4-4), for 1st in the North. They'll lose to @Iowa, @OU, @TX, & @Colorado. They choke @CU do to pressure of being able to put the North away but will do something original and actually win the North by beating Mizzu their final game.

They will be playing an undefeated OU or TX in which it would prepell Iowa into the NC game should ISU win.

I hope you are right OP. It's one of the toughest schedules in the country. Personally I would be happy with 6-6. We will have some firepower on the Offense but really young and raw on defense. I love our coaching staff and think we are the 2012 season away from having 8 to 9 win season.

To Bwsmoney....it's ok little brother.

ok  #84 in the country according to CBS

Correction, that may be last year's strength of schedule. Still, highly doubt they hit top 25 schedule difficulty.

It's actually ranked top 5 in pretty much everyone's rankings.

@Iowa (who you guys think is top 5 material)
@OU (who Phil Steele has #1)
Neb (who Steele has #5)
@Tex (who will be a top 10 to 15 team this year)
Utah (top 25 team)
Northern Ill (good non con team...expected to win MAC)

TT, @Colorado, Mizzou, Kansas, UNI, and @KSU fill out the rest

Tell me that's not a top 5 schedule

They have 3 road games that alone would put it into the top 25

@Iowa, Texas and Oklahoma, then throw in a top 10 team in Nebraska and probably a top 25 team in Utah at home and 5 of their 12 games will be against top 25 teams.

Won't make a bowl game.

They were 6-6 last year with a VERY easy schedule and it is tough this year.

I am going to guess 4 or 5 wins

They have one of the harder schedules in the country, no doubt. But, c'mon man, Northern Ill in there as a tough game?!?!?!

Hmmmm, where did I say that was a tough game? I was commenting on the game. For a non conference game that is a pretty good game when you consider we also play @Iowa and Utah at home. That was my point. If we go 3 for 4 in non conference it will be a nice start.

When did we get so arrogant... Northern Ill might be as tough as UNI was for us last year. I think we all can agree ISU's schedule is tough as any this year, anyone who thinks different is honestly, just being a jerk.

Seriously.....who the hell cares?

I used to root for ISU to do well in both basketball and football growing up. Then I became an adult and started looking at message boards, and hearing from ISU fans. I now root for them to lose EVERY game they ever play. Their hatred for Iowa and the garbage they spew is enough for me.

Hmmmmm, let's see, you specifically singled out that game and grouped it with the likes of Iowa, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Texas and Utah. The logical conclusion is to, get this, group that game like the others. As in, a tough game.

Hence why I started my post with....

Aren't cyclone fans ALWAYS happy with 6-6? Hell, you played one of the worst/easiest schedules in the country last year, and could only put together six wins against it. As you mentioned, you play one of the tougher ones this year. I predict no more than five wins. If there was an over/under for ISU wins set at five though, I would take the under.

By the way, it is funny that many of the Iowa haters (aka ISU fans) ripped on us because we talked about how tough of a schedule we had in 2009. Now they are already playing that card.

I agree. If you are an Iowa fan who does "root for ISU when they aren't playing Iowa" just go over to cyclonefanatic.com and read the threads in the "In State Rivals" forum, and you should change your mind pretty quickly.

They're over there pissin and moanin about AC not getting any type of suspension for his disorderly conduct plea...

Of course they are. They are a bunch of losers. Pot meet kettle. Guarantee if the shoe was on the other foot, they would be defending their guy for giving the cabbie what he deserved after throwing a racial slur at him.

Besides, we would beat them WITHOUT AC. They have not scored a touchdown on us in four years, and AC has not been a part of the defense that whole time.

Last year we were thrilled with 7-6 because we had a first year head coach who just took over for a coach who was 5-19 at ISU. Don't play dumb man. Do you really think Hawk fans wouldn't have been excited if Ferentz would have started 7-6 at Iowa after Fry retired and finished 3-8 the previous season?

Now we have what is one of the toughest schedules in the country. We have a 2nd year coach who is still getting his players and system in. I think it is realistic to be happy with a 6-6 season. Hell there are good teams that could go 6-6 with our schedule this year.
