As in not playing them at all? Or not on tv?
That just seems crazy.
The NCAA will never do a tv ban again IMO.
It might be a decent middle ground, though. I don't think there will be another TV ban, but this would reduce OSU's TV exposure (not to mention their income), and still not penalize the rest of the Big Ten.
The only other way I can think of to not penalize the fans of the other schools is to find a way to televise the game in just that school's state. So we would see a game with OSU (I know we don't play them, just an example) on local broadcast (or a BTN special broadcast that can only be seen in Iowa), and that's it. No TV in Ohio, or any other state except for the home state of their opponent. But that would be much more difficult to implement, I would think.
What about the teams osu will play? Those teams will miss a big gate, so in effect, the would punishing the teams that osu was supposed to play.
A 2 or 3 year TV ban would be best!
Yes but how does OSU not playing during the suspension of their players, even come remotely close to a punishment?Did you not just read what Jim Said? He does not want TV games banned, because it would hurt the conference. 2-3 years, every game OSU played not on TV? That includes any game against, Iowa, nebraska, michigan, msu, psu, minny, wiscy, northwestern, indiana, illinois, or purdue.
If you didnt notice IOWA was in that list. TV ban would hurt Iowa too, if a game was scheduled against OSU and it was not televised. Not to mention the long term affects by marque games in the b1g not being on TV? You think its a high number of HS players and media outlets slobbing over the SEC now, just imagine what a 2-3 year ban on ALL OSU tv games would do.

Oh and if you feel sorry for the teams that play OOC against OSU. Have them play each other and problem solved. Just pick a random weekend. Miami and Colorado are really the only teams anyone cares about.
