I’m glad they’re in the B1G. Nationally they’re about the only program that is relevant. Where would the conference be without them?
They have sold the soul to do it but they got a great price for it on the field anyway.
F that. I might tear my hair out over it, but at the end of the day it's just sports. We should NEVER tolerate selling our souls for athletics, whether it be overlooking pedophiles, wife beaters, sexual abuse by trainers, or whatever. I'd root for no team over a scummy one.I’m glad they’re in the B1G. Nationally they’re about the only program that is relevant. Where would the conference be without them?

Not old enough to remember Thigpen, so I'll have to take your word for it, but Alford was and is rightfully despised by the Iowa fanbase for those actions, along with being a world-class douche.I agree it is just athletics, but let’s not act like they’re the only ones who have done this stuff.
Steve Alford and Bob Bowlsby let Pierce to stay at Iowa. Fry let Eric Thigpen play in 1998 after beating up his girlfriend.
The difference is Ohio St is actually successful at sports. Iowa let those guys play but it didn’t pay off in either circumstance and in Pierce’s case he offended again.
Minnesota is helping our chances of making a better bowl than the Holiday. This is not the Gopher team we played in early October. They are laying the wood to Bucky. The key question is does this help or hurt Iowa's chances to make the Holiday Bowl?

Respectfully disagree. Their secondary was totally confused when we played them, not knowing whether their niche was zone or man. They couldn't control the line scrimmage. They were blitzing too much and not getting to Stanley with consistency. Their special teams have improved.Yes, it is the Gopher team we played in Oct. Its just that WI is showing its true colors.
