overshadowed a great offensive performance by the hawks. It sucks Gatens couldnt get it going but he had a great career for the hawks. Best of luck to Matt and whatever he decides to do after college. Cheers to cartwright aswell he had a great game!

Imagine how the game would have gone if Iowa had shot a lot worse then what they were shooting for a majority of the game....

Although its easy to say there was no D, the game was a run and gun game and they shot 70%+ in the second half. 97 points is going to get you a win 98% of the time. The were unconcious in the second half. I am proud of the way Iowa played and they have nothing to hang their heads about. White, Marble and Basabe accounted for 70 points and will be huge next year. We were killed by McCabe and Gatens not getting into the game. McCabe is so inconsistant that I don't see him as a huge factor next year. Love Gatens but am excited to see Gesell and Ingram and Clemmons. Marble will be a big asset next year on the wing. Basabe and White will grow by this years experience and Basabe came back to be the player that we all thought he should be the last few games. McCabe?????????? WTF? Can't wait for Meyer to get here. The Hawks exceeded my expectations by a couple games. I see 22-25 wins next year and playing with the big boys in the post season. Let all give a hand to a respectful season.

I am very proud of this team and what they did this year, I looked forward to watching each game and look forward to next year and beyond. We are going to have to learn to play defense though to get to be a quality NCAA team.

Yes, Oregon shot a great percentage but like said before it was because of bad defense, I can not remember one contested shot, all of theirs were open looks.

Oregon played descent defense in the half court, most of our shots were contested and we still made them.

Oregon scored because of our defense we scored because we made contested shots, if we don't do that we would have lost by 20-30.

How about all the dunks down low?

Iowa played terrible defense in the paint.

Defense in the paint was not the main problem, all of those were dishes off of drives where the defender in the paint had to leave his man and help the guard who had been beaten off the dribble.

Terrible perimeter defense was the problem. No one but Marble can stay in front of their man. No one communicates on switches, and far to often when the ball does go into the post the perimeter players in the area immediately collapse into the lane for no good reason and leave two or three open guys around the outside.

I like Fran and Co. but I am left wondering what is being taught to these guys on defense sometimes especially with all of the overeating to the ball in the paint.
