They are not afraid to throw to the middle of the field....downfield. I see some screen swing passes towards the sideline, but I don't see a million 6 yard fade routes to the sidelines.

We have not had savvy QB play since Tate.
I think Stanzi did a good job for us the last two years. He was drafted so obviously NFL scouts thought well of his ability.

Disagree. We have an offensive coordinator who is so deep into the intricacies and approaches to football that he knows better than most other OC's to make dangerous passes downfield into the middle of coverage.

I agree. Stanzi was good but he never pushed the envelope. Tate wasn't afraid of anything. Until something changes I will always think that Tate has and will be the best QB under this coaching staff.

The major differences right now with the top QB's is there ability to make things happen when the play breaks down. Wilson and Oregon's QB were incredible when things went awry.
The other thing is that most handle pressure and will sit in the pocket knowing they are going to get hit, but they still get the ball off. There is absolutely no panic. This is where JVB needs to make strides. Let's the play develop and make subtle moves to buy time.
