One more

In spite of all of the cauterwaling, bemoaning, and aspersions that have been directed at the Hawkeyes for being in the Pinstripe Bowl, as the day draws near, I'm glad I get to watch Akrum Wadley, Josey Jewell and probably Josh Jackson (and the other seniors) play one more game. Yes, I believe they left wins on the table this year, and my frustrations are the same as many about the program (and often bubble to the surface), but in the end, as it always is for me, I am looking forward to watching the Hawkeyes. Unless it's a playoff game or the Rose Bowl, the Pinstripe Bowl (versus the Outback Bowl, the Holiday Bowl, the Music City Bowl, or the [Insert Corporate Name Here] Bowl) tomorrow is nothing more than another chance to watch Iowa football. That alone is worth it.

What's cauterwaling? Is that like wassailing? If so, then count me in!

I'll gladly slurp from the bowl if it'll bring the Hawks' good fortune in NYC and healthy, happy futures for all them dudes you mentioned.:):p

Well, that "one more" game hasn't provided much in the way of happy memories for the last several years.

But, maybe this year?

Yes, this is the year the Hawks don't look like they're sleepwalking against a team that's had a month to prepare for a not-very-hard-to-prepare-for opponent!

Here's hoping you're right!

You know...I look forward to watching this team play one more time. It's kind of that anticipation to see if they can put it together for the second time this year. There's alot of pressure to show that Ohio State was no fluke.

Actually, it will be interesting to see how the Oline plays with the changes. I'm hoping it's not a Rose Bowl type of scenario. There were a ton of injuries leading into that game...that obviously no one knew about and hence you couldn't see the struggles on offense coming. For the defense...not sure they knew about McCaffery and how good he was. They may have used old tapes to prepare...oh, and by all means punt it to him too.

My take on the game... I’m excited because I’m tired of getting smoked in bowls. We better show up and be ready to play. I think most agree this is a favorable matchup for the Hawks.

Go get it done and get this bowl monkey off our back and hopefully take some momentum into the off season.

This ^^^ exactly, of course I want them to win, even losing in a pretty well played game is worth it to watch. Dont want a repeat of blowouts though. I remember my grumpy old father in law watching the hawks play UCLA in the rose bowl with me and bad mouthing Iowa and saying stuff like 'wow I bet you hate watching this' and I said no because I get to watch my favorite team again. He was just trying to pay me back for my cowboys and Roger the Dodger Staubach beating the Vikes in the playoffs a couple of times.
