One Last Time: Starting 5

As much as it pains me to say it, I think Fran is going to play 11 guys regularly especially in the non conference.
Well, there's Garza, Cook, Baer, Moss, JB, Kriener, Pemsl, Wagner, Nunge, Ellingson for sure. Connor if he's playing would make 11.

Especially after this exhibition, after seeing what Nunge can do and with Baer basically out with illness and Uhl still not getting many minutes, Dom is just going to be a spot player. Now, if you saw the last minute of the exhibition, Dailey put on a show of what he can do now. Yes, they were scrub minutes but execution is execution: a quick post feed, shot that no one could block in the corner, and an assist leading the break. I still think he should be tried at the point, especially with CW leaving. MD is an assist-first athletic guard with a good shot and decent handle- everything we wished CW could have been as backup PG.

I didn’t hear that Baer was under the weather, that makes sense. He didn’t seem to have his normal energy.

It will be interesting to see the starting lineup in the next contest. It will likely be the same, but I would not be surprised to see Nunge or Wagner in there.

If Nunge and CM don't redshirt (and I don't think Nunge should for sure), the line-up possibilities are all over the place.

It's a good and bad problem to have for Fran. No matter how he cuts it up, there are going to be players that simply don't see the court much at all. Realistically, I think Uhl, Daily and Wagner end up being the odd men out, and I would imagine that Pemsl's minutes will go down somewhat as well. It doesn't get any easier with Patrick and Wieskamp coming in.

My only concern moving forward is that we are going to have to find a PG at least by the '20 class. We are in on two very good ones for '19 in Carton and Terry, but it will be stiff competition for both with Minny and Wisc.
