Easy wins in what were supposed to be difficult games. Time for the Big Ten badmouth to stop.
Time for the committee to realize that Iowa was a tourney quality team and not score a D- on selections again in future years.

Normally I don't care about conference results but I'm going all Big 10 homer this year and hope that, even the teams I hate, like Minnesota and Illinois, roll to the sweet 16 and beyond.

the teams that are playing well in the tournament have nothing to do with Iowa.

I agree, but Minnesota, cmon I can't bring myself to root for that trash team.

My only point is Iowa played toe to toe with nearly every other conference team (beating some), and these teams Mich and MSU played today couldn't even stay within 20 pts. Hmmmmm

Question and a comment, and I'll hang up and listen.

Who's bad mouthing the B1G?

Iowa wasn't a tournament team.

Iowa was worthy, based on the competition I have seen.

Charles B. not giving much props to the big ten.

I'm on the bandwagon in the seat next to you. I rarely support other conference teams. In fact, I generally root against them come bowl season and tourney time. This year I want to the Big 10 to crush everybody.

Not really...its a reflection on the conference as a whole and what the Big Ten teams go up against on a nightly basis. If you would look at it objectively you would realize its the same thing ISU fans do every season during football season.

#1 SOS! WHAR HARD SCHEDULE! UNDER 500 OK BECAUSE OF HARD SCHEDULE!!!!!!!!!!

Only difference this year is the Big 12 then went out in bowl season and disappointed

More worthy that a fair number of the teams that got in. Competed much harder head to head against MSU (should have won both) vs. Memphis who just got beat down.

I am not trying to start controversy, just observations thats all.

big XII "disappointing in bowl season" this year is a good bowl season by Big 10 standards

LOL what?

OP is saying that the performance of the B1G teams in the tournament somehow means Iowa was more tournament worthy, which is no the case.
Iowa has crushed Indiana state(no Larry bird) and stoney river/creek/brook thus proving they are not a #3 in the nit.

For me it's every team except the Badgers......

Dont change the subject - I never said the Big Ten was good in football...in fact it sucked this past year

But, the Big 12 did not have a good bowl season after Big 12 fans said over and over and over it was one of the top 2 conferences all season

Big 12's bowl performance: Underwhelming - Big 12 Blog - ESPN

right. bad bowl season.

but that still doesn't change that fact that based on stats, SOS, etc. the Big XII was the 2nd best conference in the country last year.

Move this to the rivalry forum, or the football forum.

Unlike basketball there are extremely few major non-conference matchups between conferences. There's very little data to determine how teams compare to each other, the B12 teams just have higher SOS because they play an extra conference game. The B12's best non-conf regular season win was Texas over Ole Miss. In basketball there's enough games played between conferences to get a much larger sample size on how conferences compare to each other.

The Big Ten had that going for it in basketball this year, too. And now it's throwing a good tourney performance on top of it. The Big Ten was the best conference in the nation, and anyone (Barkley, for one) who can look at college basketball this year and walk away with the opinion that the MWC was better is a moron.
