Ok I have one hope still for this season

Make a bowl game. Then, reverse the last several debacles in bowls. That is my hope. We're not going to a major bowl, if one at all. So, that's my best impersonation of Jim Zabel.
 
Not interested in the toilet bowl. Want to see the Hawks win. Sick to my stomach about KF getting off the hook.

One can't control win with lack of interior speed especially when predictable.

Hope is fine, but this team is too slow to compete with upper half teams.

To clarify.....just going to a bowl in and of itself does not constitute a successful or even acceptable season. Bowl eligibility is the *minimum* this team should achieve every year.

Agreed. But I would bet last year's B1G champion would take any bowl this year.

7 wins will be very dissappointing, 6 is just ridiculous. but I'd always rather go to a bowl than not.

eeehhhhh, I need more than just going to a bowl game. I need more than "at least we are not Michigan St." What "more" is I can't tell you, but it has to be more than getting smoked by VA. Tech in the Pinstripe bowl.
 
After last season, would hope Hawks fans would send a message and not accept anything less than a division title and top tier bowl game. No reason with this division that this isn't a reality.

I agree with you there. But I don't really care about Michigan St. They are just not even in my thoughts.:)

This idea that at least we aren't so and so does not make me feel better. I don't care that Norte Dame sucks this year. I care that Iowa couldn't take advantage of this schedule.
 
Would rather go to a bowl than not. At least it gives us more time to develop players.

Going to a bowl, though, is no sign of success anymore. Hasn't been for a while. There are simply too many bowls for these lower tier bowls to mean anything.

I have to admit, really like seeing Notre Dame suck ass. Doesn't make me feel any better about our season, but still gives me a great deal of enjoyment.

I do enjoy watching ND get beat again. But going to a bowl game at 6-6 or even 5-7 ( yes, looking at you Nebraska) I don't wanna see that.

Right. It just doesn't enter into my thoughts. The only thing that matters to me is how the Hawkeyes are doing. I guess its nice to see Michigan St not be competitive after last year's heart wrenching loss, its not something that makes me feel better about our program.:cool:

With ya. 7-5 gets Iowa a mid tier bowl. while that's still massively dissappointing given expectations and what we thought we had, it's not awful, provided we win te bowl game. 6-6 or worse, and a crap bowl, thats...Icky...

Agreed all around. 5-3 with a shot at a decent bowl does feel better than 3-6 with no shot though. it doesn't diminish how much the year has dissappointed though. we should absolutely be 7-1 right now. :mad:
