Ohio State, Wisconsin, Iowa or Illinois...

I believe these teams will finish 5th through 8th in the conference. There has been conversation in various threads about the final order and NCAA bids. Below is each team's schedule and my prediction (only one guy's opinion) of final records.

Iowa Explanation - We have lost 6 games and 5 were to ranked teams. I have Iowa losing to every ranked team on our schedule and beating the others...season trend other than VT. A loss at WI puts us in a projected tie at 10-8 for 5th with OSU and WI. Beat WI and we are projected to be alone in 5th...per my projections. Even with the 3 way tie all of us are 3 games clear of Illinois making for a natural break for NCAA bids.

I know others will disagree but thought it might make for some interesting conversation. What do I have wrong per other opinions?

From your keyboard to God's eyes...I hope.
I do not see OSU losing at home more than maybe once.
If Iowa could finish at 10-8 and ahead of Wisky and Illinois....all good, probably be dancing.

I've love this, but I don't see fOSU losing all of those games.

I don't see Iowa winning in Madtown, but I'd love it!!!

No way to predict how teams will respond. Sunday UM v IL is a huge game to tell where IL stands. IL is very not predictable at this point due to the 3 and lack of assists recently. I think you are way underestimating OSU. IL and the Hawks are maybe on a day to day basis the most unpredictable in the league. IL due to threes and Iowa ....due to threes....or lack there of.

By no means am I suggesting the above projections are correct. They are my best guess. I also wanted to see those 4 schedules together in 1 place and figured I would share since others might also find it interesting.

Keep in mind that 4 of the above games are between Ohio State, Illinois and Wisconsin. If any of those 4 are wrong then we still benefit. One team's unexpected win is another team's unexpected loss.

It's possible that I am underestimating OSU but I will take my chances. I admit that I made the same mistake with MSU but have accepted the fact that they are probably finishing in the top 4. I still think OSU at 10-8 is accurate. They have a lot of tough ones in the last half...and we have a lot of easier ones compared to our first half.

IMO: Best I see Iowa going is 9-9. Depending on other variables, that would still give them a great chance to get in.

I opened because I needed to see how OSU finished 5th, 6th, 7th or 8th.. :)

EDIT it should be titled Re: Minnesota, Wisconsin, Iowa or Illinois....

The way Minnesota looked last night, I could see them finishing 10-8 or 11-7. No way does OSU lose to Minny, MSU and IND at home.

No way do they finish 10-8 or 11-7 if they play like they did last night. Looking at their remaining schedule they would be happy with 9-9..

You're probably right on OSU but I made a point of looking at the schedules game by game. It's hard to imagine OSU losing 3 home games but I think all 3 of those teams are better than OSU...even though MN is in a slump right now.

MSU and IN both have big guys that can play which is the area where I see OSU getting beat. MN is more like MI and OSU already won at home against MI so that's the most likely OSU win out of the 3 IMO.

This is wayyy to young of a team to predict a 11-7 or even 10-8. The team still goes on long scoreless droughts and no real go to guy I see another year of falling short of the NCAA Tourney. But God I hope I'm wrong.

I'm not ready to move Ohio State into the top 4 but I am read to make it a top 3 and drop Minnesota in with the other 4 in this thread. They have lost 4 in a row and still don't know how to win on the road in this conference. Win tomorrow and we're suddenly tied for 6th.

Beating MN in Iowa City is starting to look very doable. I also suspect they will no longer be ranked after today's loss. Beating MN gives us a little bit of wiggle room...on the road against Purdue and WI. I still think we will beat both on the road.
