OH LB Brian Asamoah Appreciates Hawkeye Opportunity

After building up a relationship over time with Iowa, Ohio LB Brian Asamoah landed a Hawkeye offer on Tuesday. He talked with HN about what it meant to him:

this kid is a stud. he's a d1 rb but appears to be a better lb. we've offered some very high level lb's. We need to hit on at least 2.

I could see him fitting in to our D scheme. Reminds me of a young Christian Kirksey.

Either he has done some research or there has been some conversations with the coaching staff. He seems to know a lot terminology (LEO) and D schemes of Iowa compared to what he runs in high school . When he was talking about Iowa does not offer a lot of scholarships, it makes me think this is coming from the coaching staff. I hope they build a good bond with him and get him to campus. These are good signs, but you never know with the big boys offering.

His high school runs a defense similar to ours. He plays the LEO in it.

Well he said all the right things in the interview. IF he is being honest then the kid has a good head on his shoulders and that's what we want.
