Player of the game for the Hawks and hit the tough, clutch shots. He's been ragged on a lot and some of it has been deserved (at least last year.) Almost single handedly won the game for us in the second in a game where Wisconsin played great and we played fairly poorly. Too bad non of those makes were threes.

I love how he used his mid range game today with the curl cuts. If he forces teams to pay for trailing him on those cuts and have to close out more carefully in fear of him taking a couple dribbles and rising up for a mid range shot, it should only buy him more opportunities in the future from 3.

He made one three.

He made one three.

His freshman year he would drive from the wing and shoot off the dribble like he did today from 10-15 feet.

Last year he didnt , I am not sure if he was trying to replace gatens 3 point shooting numbers

But this is his game.

Next year it would be great to see him drive more from the right wing, dribbling with left hand and stop and pop which will make him extremely tough as teams shade him toward the 3 point line

And if he can continue his drives more to the glass and to the hole to pass off that will really help.

I never thought I'd see him play as well as he did today. Too bad we couldn't get the win.

He reminded me a little of Gatens coming off those screens. Unfortunately, most of Gaten's shots were taken from beyond the three point line and Oglesby's we just inside.

Sad how we have waited for 2.5 years for Josh to have a game where he can take over and maybe hit the game winner...and he never gets the chance. Kid was on fire the entire second half. Great game JO.

Some of those shots he hit were very difficult ones. He was very much in the zone today. He worked his *** off getting open as the vadgers were grabbing him after every screen

BUT THE MOCK CHEERING WHEN THEY FINALLY CALLED ONE WAS UNINFORMED!!!!!

I think Iowa has a bunch of players that can hit that shot on a consistent basis along with Oglesby (White, Marble, Gesell, Uthoff, Jok). This could be Iowa's bread and butter on offense, I have been saying this for a long time. Iowa is not a bunch of gunners, they don't have a lot of individual play makers, they have to manufacture offense in the half court and the mid range game is right up their players alleys. Then total effort on rebounding and defense...the transition opportunities will come, which is what Iowa does excel at.

This team is still finding itself, too many 3's today and not enough overall effort on the defensive end.

That he did. I have no memory. We need to utilize his screens to open up some half court offense. Tougher to do in college than the pros since you can sit in the land in the college game but still.

Players on the court with Josh can stop running stuff off Josh. If White, Basabe, Gabe or Woody are out there why not sag. None of those guys will float out to shoot a 3 ball and hurt you.

Iowa's only play maker is Marble and I don't even consider him great at it. He kind of forces it to make it work or uses his length to his advantage.

Fran needs to coach an offense to take advantage of 1/2 court mismatches. Gasser was on White in the 2nd half a few possessions. White has to post him up and Iowa needs to space the floor to prevent an immediate double team. Its hard to pull defenders away when Iowa has only a few threats from deep.
