He is a good kid but we cannot just sit around as a program hoping in year 4 that he will knock down some big shots. How many opponents have we seen both good and bad have players that can knock down an open 3? I can count on my hand the number of really good shooting games he has had in 4 years.
The ship has sailed for him. Better off playing Jok, Uhl and Ellenson to see what you have there.
Right now, we are the worst wide open 3 point shooting team in the country. I've never seen college players who have a wide open 19 foot jump shot and clank it. I'm 52, and I take my 13 year old to YMCA to work on his game with him. We have 3 point shooting contests where you get 20 shots in succession and you see who makes the most. At 52, I made 12, 8, and 14 the other day from the college line.
Granted no one is guarding me and I'm not running the floor against that level of competition...but these guys practice all year round and are in shape. If you are wide open, which Ogs is, how in the hell do you miss 13 straight? I'm telling you...that's hard to do if you have a good shooting motion. It's damn near impossible if that is what you are known for.
I hate to say the time has come...but you can't play him if he doesn't make them...give the minutes to Jok and Uhl.
