Offensive Development the Key Focus as Spring Ball Kicks Off

There are plenty of areas on which to keep an eye when Iowa kicks off spring practice today. None of them is as important as the development of the offensive coaching staff:

I'm intrigued and excited to see what Brian brings to the offense. Tapping on the brakes when Kirk says things like, "there's not a lot of new stuff" in football, in terms of expecting anything wildly different, but I have to believe we'll see some different (meaning, more appealing) stuff on offense from what we saw in the Davis era.

The read I get is that spring practice is about the fundamentals of Iowa football. Brian will observe what he has to work with and as summer turns into fall practice he will develop an offensive game plan. We know that O'Keefe will have a big impact on our QB's growth and should help them complete more passes than last year. Love our tight end potential and with a simpler passing plan for wide receivers I like the upside of our passing game.
