The university of Iowa has been through a lot the past two seasons in football.
1. The whole DJK stories.
2. Adam Robbison, Brandon Wegher, Jewel Hampton all leaving
3. Coker, McCall leaving
4. The whole weight lifting issues kid's getting sick and hospitalized.
5. Norm Retires
6. KOK is going NFL.
This has been quite the ride in the past two years.
In saying that It has been along time since we have had both OC and DC in the same season leave. Yet alone. other assistants leaving too.
I know there has been up and down moments with both coaches. Like to believe more up's than downs. However, it is never a glad moment when in one season you loose both. You have to now look at the following scenereos
1. Get guys that have experience
2 Get guys that the University will appreciate
3. Get guys that can make immediate impact who will be liked by their peers and by the players.
4 Bring in guys who work in harmony well with the other coaches and try not to dominate the authority of KF.
5. Young but not young enough that no one knows who they are. It would't hurt to bring in guys whose had success and can adjust quickly to the level of competition
6 Must be good recruiters. Not afraid to get in there and fight.
7. Run the best option of play that will allow the team to reach above the plateau they suddenly have been at.
8. Have a knack for talent and play the best players that will give the team the best results.
9. Help KF keep these boys out of the hands of the "Law" and in good terms of the University. KF can't do it alone!
10. Have a great attitude! No matter what comes there way!
All in all, every university goes through big changes and road blocks through out the years. I feel that Iowa has hit their biggest challenge and let's hope all works out to the good. Whether it last for 5years or 13 we need to rekindled the success at Iowa and let the good times keep rolling.
one other thing. They need to keep the recruits from jumping ship since two major guys left the program.
