O$U v UW final

How many of you are thrilled with this game in the Conf. championship?
Who would you pick to win?

I presume Wisconsin will be favored over Minnesota, but I ain't crowning them just yet. That game on Saturday looked kind of like Iowa of old in terms of the hits we laid on Gordon. It will take more than a week to recover and I wouldn't be surprised to see Minnesota hold him under 150 yards.

It's in the league's best interests for Wisconsin to win on Saturday, and Ohio State to win the CCG.

I'd imagine that's what crews are being told.

That said, I wasn't impressed with Wisco. I'd pick OSU against them.

I still believe that Minny doesn't get the credit they deserve and its no fluke they're playing for the divisional crown on the last week of the season. That said, I think it's going to be a great game but ultimately I think the winner will go on to lose to OSU in the Championship.

Please. Minnesota was handed the NE game on a silver platter by bumbling Bo and company. NE's last drive was going in for A TD. They had another similar drive like that earlier in the game with another TO. And O$U handled MN despite basically giving MN every chance in the world to steal a victory (yes, another drive that O$U was going in for a TD and fumbled it away on the goal line). Leidner is terrible at QB and wont do much as WI's strength is stuffing the run. Cobb will be hobbled. WI is vulnerable in the pass game but MN, well, they don't do (nor can do) much of that.

Besides, do you REALLY want MN representing the West? That would sum up one crappy year of football in our division, folks.

I think that's a tricky statement to make. When we were playing in the first half and Wiscy knew what was coming their way and followed their game plan I think they looked very impressive. When we picked up the pace and went uptempo I think they were shell shocked and were as confused as anyone else at what was unfolding on the field. Similar to a starting QB getting hurt pregame and finding out that the backup will be in completely changed the game plan and scouting and appeared to catch them totally off guard.

So I was impressed with Wiscy in the first half, but not sure what to think now. That said I've been impressed with them throughout the season. Similar to my thoughts on OSU, I thought they passed the eye test with flying colors and belonged in the playoff hunt, but after Indiana not sure what to think.

OSU is going to kick ***. Their passing attack will crush Wisky's defense. OSU can handle Wisky's puny passing attack and stop Wisky's vaunted running game with athleticism (or load the box if necessary. See the puny Wisky passing attack comment). Now if Iowa was in the game and used their new found down the field passing capabilities, I think Iowa would have a better shot against OSU than Wisky.

With a lot of the questionable holds not called as well as these few calls:
-spotting of the ball on both 2 point conversions charging us with a time out that we didn't call
-the Ref stepping in to add 2 seconds to the game clock when Wisky would not have gotten the play off and Kinnick rocking,

...the BIG offices have already set up Wisky vs OSU. Beating a 10 win Wisky team is the only chance OSU/BIG has of playing their way into the Final 4. Sad to see that a 4-team playoff has now corrupted Division championships now too.

Never said I wanted MN to win the west. I'm by no means saying they're world beaters but when you go into the last 3 games of the year in a round robin with the other three contenders and find your way going into the last game beating the first two opponents (regardless of how) I think you deserve a little credit. I still said that Wiscy will advance to the Championship game, but to good teams find ways to win ball games and Minnesota, regardless of luck, did more to more than Nebby did to determine the outcome of that game. Again, I'm not praising Minny but I think its impressive that they've gotten to where they did this year and I feel they simply don't get any of the credit they deserve.

Wasn't this the case last year too? Refs didn't screw MSU.

I wasn't impressed with Wisconsin either outside of Gordon. The defense has great numbers. How much of that is due to the fact that they haven't played against a good QB this season? They won't have that luxury against Ohio St. And Ohio St's skill guys at WR are far better than the group that racked up a lot of yards against Wisconsin on Saturday.

IMO, Wisconsin is a good, solid, physical team but I'd be surprised if they can hang close enough to Ohio St for Gordon to be a big factor.

Wisconsin is a solid, well-coached football team and they know who they are. However, when it comes to pure athletic ability and depth, they are not going to give OSU much of a run. Emotion will likely keep the game close for awhile, but in the end OSU will win by at least 2 or 3 TD's. WI will give up some pretty big plays; OSU may give up a couple, as well, since WI's run game is really explosive with MG and his back up, in addition to their ability to go with a zone read change up. I do think WI will beat MN; Camp Randall is a wicked place to play for the visitors. Just so I am clear, I would be very happy if OSU never won another football game.

Wisconsin will roll Minnesota. I like Ohio State over Wisconsin pretty comfortably

I agree. If Gordon is 100% I just dont see no way the Gophers can beat them. I think it will be a good game between OSU & Wisky if everything goes to plan saturday for Wisky
