NY6 Bowl Chances

Say this happens:

Iowa beats Nebraska
Wisconsin beats Minnesota
Ohio State beats Michigan
PSU beats Michigan State

Ohio State destroys Wisconsin in BTC

At 10-2 would Iowa have a path to a NY6 bowl? My thoughts are Michigan probably plays in the Rose and Wisconsin gets the Citrus. I think Iowa jumps MSU in the rankings and remains ahead of Wisconsin.

How about a 10-3 finish where the above scenario happens except Wisconsin loses and then Iowa loses to Ohio State?

Or is beating Ohio State the only way?

Yeah I know beating Nebraska won’t be easy. For those of you that don’t like looking past a game this thread isn’t for you.

Two things:

1) I like the way you went through all of the scenarios, but I've thought (psychedelic dream?) about if Iowa would go to the CCG and win, where would Iowa go? Obviously Wisky over OSU makes more sense, but wondering how the bowl system lets that play out.

2) A thread on CyFan talks about their chances at a NY6 bowl.

They'd leave B1G out.

They'd take Georgia, Alabama, Cincinnati, and Notre Dame.

That would be three huge TV markets for them, and the dark horse Cincinnati team which would be ND's only loss. I'd actually like watching that a whole lot more than Iowa getting boat raced by Georgia 74-3.

I do think that Iowa is a virtual lock for the Capital One Bowl played on New Year's Day if Iowa defeats Nebraska. We haven't been to that bowl since the Tate to Holloway win over LSU, so that would be a fun bowl trip.

I'm dreading the prospect of another Outback Bowl. I'd rather go to Music City Bowl.

Beating Nebraska will require Iowa's best game of the season. Nebraska is gonna be sky high motivated to win. It's their bowl game.

My assumption is Iowa is in the Rose Bowl if it was to pull off a miracle and beat Ohio State.

That's my thought, but didn't know how much of a choice the Rose had. I'd think they'd rather have OSU, but would like to think they'd "have to" take the conference champ.
