Do we feel better or worse about our last 2 losses?
You want NW to continue to keep winning since it is the worst loss
Would be nice to see them knock off a team with a better RPI than Iowa's, but I haven't checked their schedule.
Taphorn was NW's most efficient offensive player (per KenPom) before missing 7 games with a foot injury. His 1st game back was against Iowa...hit a critical 3 in 13 minutes of PT. He scored 11 last night at Minnesota...in 25 minutes of PT. He is currently shooting 57.4% from the field and 53.1% from 3.
I only bring this up because NW lost by 2 at MI; by 2 against OSU; and by 1 at MD during the 7 game stretch he was out. If Taphorn plays NW may very well have won these games and he may have been a factor in the other 4 which weren't as close. Give NW those 3 wins and Iowa losing in OT isn't such a shocker IMO.
I'm not defending our loss at NW. I'm saying NW is better than their record. And their record may also be better if they hadn't been without Taphorn for 7 games.
No, it doesn't make me feel better. Iowa lost to both, so.. It doesn't really matter what anyone else is doing if you aren't taking care of your own business.
I would play McIntosh for sure....no fear, drives, and can shoot....
NW is up to 125 per Live-RPI...after their 3rd straight win. I'm not trying to justify the loss...just noting that it becomes less damaging with each win.
Northwestern is ridiculously close to being a .500 conference team.
