No, lines are based on who will play and who won't. No ARob = Underdog. IF we get ARob back = pick em'. You people do realize we haven't had a lot of success against NW lately?

Iowa beat Indiana by more than Northwestern did. Northwestern has yet to beat a quality opponent all year (that might change today) and lost to Purdue. They beat Minnesota by 1, Vanderbilt by 2, and Central Michigan by 5.

Depending on how this NU/Penn State game ends, I'm thinking Iowa will open as a 4-7 point favorite.

Odds are based on getting an equal amount of money bet on each side. A line of NW -3.5 will get a ton more money coming in on Iowa. If I had to guess I would say it will be Iowa -6. Michigan St. was favored by seven going into NW so we will be close to that as well.
 
Whatever the line end ups at, Northwestern has demonstrated they are great at giving up leads. This one is shaping up to be yet another kick to the groin.
 
Iowa's ranked, NW isn't. Iowa has blown out a good team, NW hasn't. Iowa is a bigger name than NW. NW really doesn't have much of a homefield advantage, especially when considering how many Iowa fans will be at this game. I doubt NW is favored and if they are it'd probably be smart to bet Iowa.

The lines are not set to figure who will win. It is to get even action on both sides of the play... They make their money off the juice...

I will bet you any amount of money with or without ARob it is not a pickem.... No Way... Iowaa (-5.5) or more...

I saw this thread on the front page about seven different times before I realized the OP is saying that jNW will be favored next weekend.
