This video did not cross the line. If anything, it should be a wake up call to all that is wrong with Iowa basketball: empty seats and a roster so depleted the coaches kid is logging minutes. It is what it is. Barta you have much bigger problems on your hands than a video created by a local sports show here in Des Moines. Why not address the state of the Iowa program and how far it has fallen and why you continue to show support for a coach who has the program in worse shape in year No. 3 than it was in year No. 1.
The bottom line is Lick's kid should not be logging any minutes. This is Big 10 basketball. The state of the program is strictly on Lick. This is not Alford's doing. This is Lick's team. His recruits. His team. For Barta to remain silent about the shambles that is Iowa basketball, and then actually come out and make a public comment requesting an apology from WHO is laughable. And please, stop comparing Lick's first years to Ferentz ... Lick is not Kirk Ferentz ...
This whole ordeal with the video and then Barta's response just goes to show what a joke this program has become. Who knows Gary, keep sticking by your poor decision and you and Lick may both be looking for work in a couple of years ...
