Wow... No way Iowa wins that game in Assembly Hall. Ever been there? It's intimidating on Thursday afternoon when it's empty. That win has to be one of the most amazing wins I've seen the Hawkeyes come up with...period. Iowa has a bunch of young "nobodies" on the floor, down 10, the place is going crazy, Iowa loses by 20+.
Hey baby, not with Fran on the bench and Basabe, Cartwright and Cole out there. Iowa refused to back down. I loved it when Melsahn shrugged like down 10 was a walk along the Iowa River in October. And when Cole got physical. And when Cartwright hit the game winner without batting an eye.
Illinois couldn't get out of Bloomington with a win. Neither could Minnesota. But the Hawkeyes are safely home with another W. Give 'em all credit. Great coaching. Incredible composure. Just plain guts. In the immortal words of the Z man, "I love it! I love it! I LOVE it!"
