Notre Dame is angry...

that Pitt and Syracuse are leaving the Big East for the ACC. How could these teams do this to a conference and not consider the rest of the teams.

Syracuse, Pitt exit Big East, shake up conference realignment ? USATODAY.com

The only thing Swarbuck is angry about is that these moves could jeopardize Notre Dame's football network. Think ND cares about anyone else? They know if the Big East folds then they have a major problem for the rest of their sports. They also know these moves could potentially lead to four superconferences, which ALSO forces ND's hand. If the Big East folds, ND has no place for the rest of their sports.

But its a me first move by the rest of these teams and not for ND? Think maybe Pitt and Syracuse reacted because of the conferences instability and were thinking about their own place in college football? Does anyone really think Swarbuck is not thinking ND first and foremost?

The ACC understands what's going in this realignment world. They needed to be proactive before another conference (like the big 12, big 10, SEC) would come after some of their schools to fill their conferences needs. Bravo to the ACC for being proactive and understanding it's a changing world and that they can't just sit back and watch the rest of college football nation unfold.

As I've heard on Travis and Tim (1460, who are horrible btw) actually say something intellectual regarding the big 12 coming after teams from the Big East.. Making the big 12 the contender for the best conference in basketball, and if they keep Oklahoma and Texas, also a player in the football world.

Notre Dame shouldn't be ******, they can't have the best of both worlds. They wanted to be independent for the longest time even after the big 10 came after them pretty strongly. They shot themselves in the foot by being "better" than everyone else and going independent. Now they're missing these mega tv deals and are all up in arms about the whole thing.

Once again, Kudo's to the ACC

Do the big east basketball teams such as Georgetown, Depaul, Villanona, Providence, St.johns, Marquette, and Seton Hall play all the other Olympic sports that Notre Dame would need to stay with that conference if the big east football teams split? Other then football and basketball I'm clueless on what sports ND plays in and cares about.

I'm sure boys and girls basketball bring in a large revenue stream.. I'm sure the big east is big enough in basketball to stay... possibly?? lol I've heard that teams such as West Virginia, South Florida, Cincinnati, Louisville, Marquette even are all teams of talks within the additions of the big 12.. which wouldn't be a bad pickup..

It all depends on what ND decides to do too.. if they want to join a conference or remain independent.. If they do remain independent in football, would they go elsewhere for basketball? Question Questions Questions

This coming from the school that is a member of the Big East in every sport except the one where it would benefit the conference the most.
