In this week's Iowa football notebook, we look at Brandon Snyder's miraculous return, injuries, less work for Wadley, the punting situation, potential changes on the O-Line and more:

Josh Jackson took over punt returning duties from Matt VandeBerg after the first game. He’s experienced some ups and downs. Saturday, he caught several punts inside his own 10-yard line, which led to poor starting field position.

Ferentz wouldn’t say what Jackson is coached to do in those situations for strategy reasons.

“As you might imagine, we try not to field the ball on the 1. That’s pretty obvious,” the coach said. “There are certain parameters that you give every player, and in that circumstance certainly they were well-spelled out. I think what you saw there was just inexperience there, too, so we’re paying for that a little bit. But he’s doing a good job back there.”

Did Kirk not watch the same game as the rest of us? I love Josh in the secondary; he's been our best and most consistent player back there, but he's doing a good job? You serious, Kirk? C'mon.

Catching the ball is the absolute first priority, and with Kirk, it's the first, second, AND third priority. So the fact he hasn't fumbled means he's doing a good job. :)
